This activity was easy to gain knowledge from, but hard at the same time. Although you can easily place the titles one after another you also have to add an image, and the image we had to capture from the opening of the film called  'Juno' this was a very good opening to use because as well as stating the name of the people it also gave them the label for example director followed by the name, and it usually used the format the order of titles should be in which was a plus point. The site TimeToast took long to upload the photos of where the order of the titles go and therefore it was time consuming, but overall it was fun to learn where each title goes. As for some I did not know, for example I thought that the director comes before the actors but rather it was the opposite and surprisingly the writer and director of the film come right at the end which I did not know. Other then that the website was good, because it allows us to organize what title comes before another and I will surely be using this maybe even for my personal usage.

This post will be focused on Teenage stereotypes.

THE 'BIMBO' 

A 'bimbo' is a slang term for an attractive yet unintelligent female. Phrases similar to this are "dumb blonde" and "valley girl". Those that fall into this category are usually white, blonde girls, possibly wearing heavy makeup and revealing clothing.
In teenage movies, this stereotypical character can be identified as someone who is stupid, wears lots of make up and is obsessed with boys and clothes and is blonde. In teen movies, you can easily spot them within a big group of girls that all look the same and are giggling hysterically.

THE 'GOTH'

A 'Goth' is someone who likes the darker side of things. They usually listen to death metal and goth music and are seen to be very depressed and suicidal. They wear a lot of black and have a lot of piercings. In a teen film, they aren't the most popular person people in school, in fact if anything they seem to steer clear from the spotlight.

THE 'GEEK'

A geek is a person who is regarded as foolish, inept, or clumsy when it comes to social matters but overly enthusiastic and clever when it comes to education and books. They are sometimes referred to as 'nerds'.

THE 'JOCK'

A jock is someone who is into a particular form of sport (such as football, basketball and rugby) but is also rude, arrogant, stupid and beats people up. In teen movies, Jocks only date cheerleaders and socialise with other jocks. 

THE 'SLUT'

A slut is someone (usually a girl) who is thought to have slept with everyone.  In teen movies they dress over provocatively, seeking attention from anyone and everyone. The key prop which identifies a 'slut' in a teen film is a mini skirt.

THE 'TOMBOY'

A tomboy is a girl who dresses and sometimes behaves the way boys are expected to and is often into more masculine things like "stronger" sports such as football and enjoys talking about things such as cars and computer games. Stereotypically, they tend to wear jeans, baseball caps, and denim vests/jackets.

BRIEF SUMMARY

An overworked mother and her daughter do not get along. The wide generation gap between Tess Coleman and her teenage daughter Anna is more than evident. They simply cannot understand each other's preferences. On a Thursday night they have a big argument in a Chinese restaurant. Both receive a fortune cookie each from the restaurant owner's mother which causes them to switch bodies next day. As they adjust with their new personalities, they begin to understand each other more and eventually it's the mutual self-respect that sorts the things out. When they switch bodies, each is forced to adapt to the others life for one freaky Friday. 

The use of star appeal through childhood sweetheart Lindsay Lohan would have brought the film a lot of watchers and publicity as her being in the cast would have definitely helped to promote and boost sales for the film. Also seeing as the film has a high school setting with 'high school friends' this would attract a lot of teenagers to watch the film making teens the target audience. However the film isn't just targeted to teenagers alone as the film also includes a family which consists of a step-dad, younger brother, mother and grandpa making it enjoyable for all ages to watch. 

Not only did I watch the newest version of the film but I also decided to watch the original version in the film which came out in 1976. Here are the similarities and differences I was able to pick out between the two films:

Evidently, the differences list is longer than the similarities list. This is because the films are set 27 years apart from eachother and in that time difference a lot has changed for instance technology. For instance back in the day to make movies they would use cameras such as this:

Write up of bling Ring

These are members of the cast who reenacted the events from the headline story.

The Bling Ring is a film based on the account of seven teenagers and young adults based in and around California who burglarized the homes of several celebrities for about a year. They stole about $3 million in cash and belongings. Both Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan were victims of the burglaries but in total over fifty homes were reported as being burgled by this group. 

The director Sofia Coppola tried to make the film as close to the real headline story as possible hence the use of cast members who look young. I noticed she was very gender and race specific when picking cast members. For example, for Rachel Lee, Soffia picked Katie chang

to reenact her character as they are both come from an oriental background. Her perfectionist behaviour as a director as well as enthusiasm for the story meant that those who were interested in the original story could tune in and discover what really happened.

I also noticed that there were 7 people involved in the bling ring but only five cast members to represent this. After watching interviews of all the members of the bling ring and finding out their roles, Soffia may have come to the conclusin they weren't all necessary in her film and only decided to pick the key characters.

I particularly learned a lot from Sofia Coppola as in the future I'd also like to become a film director myself. I admire her self driven spirit and confident demeanour. I also look up to her as I'm happy being a female hasn't stopped her from pursuing her dreams especially in this world where men tend to get first place.

According to film websites such as 'IMDb' and 'We couldn't understand your request' they both gave the film a rating of 3 stars. I'd also like to give this film 3 stars for the following reasons:

PROS

- The cast were very true to real life

- The director was sure to pay attention to detail

- The locations used were EPIC

SPECS

- A lot of the scenes were repeated making the film drag unnecessarily

- Some of the characters were very bland (Emma Watsons character)

THE STEROTYPES

- That young people aspire to be like celebrities

- That young people are criminals

- That young people are party animals

-That young people drink and consume drugs
